WebJul 29, 2005 · If you have sealed your primary, you can use most any light oil. I use ATF and have for years. I wouldn't use 20-50 in the tranny on a four speed. I prefer gear oil, like 75-90. If you want to spend the extra money, get some synthetic. That's up to $9.00 a quart now. The regular dino gear lube works just as well. Shovels with stock valve train like higher viscosity oil and now H-D would probably recommend their 60 weight above 50 degrees ambient. I use an evo cam and lifters with rocker arms that allow push rod top end oiling.
